Line 5 carries oil and natural gas liquids between Superior, Wisconsin, and Sarnia, Ontario. The tunnel plan is leaving Michigan at risk for a catastrophic spill during the 7 to ten years it is expected to take to dig the $350-million tunnel.

Additional Information

I was Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1959 and lived there until the 1967 riots broke out and the family made the decision to move to Rochester Hills, Michigan.  I graduated from Rochester Adams High school in 1977 and earned my automotive and diesel degree from Lincoln Technical Institute.

After college I started a mechanical career working on and driving trucks along with learning how to use heavy equipment like backhoes, bulldozers, and front end loaders. After my experiences with heavy equipment, I started my career in the oil field and worked with companies like Halliburton Services. When the oil fields slowed down I held multiple positions such as a Service Writer for the automobile industry, a Union Representative, Quality Control Supervisor for Hitachi, ISO 9000 Auditor, Maintenance Foreman for Maxcess Technologies, Fire Fighter, and First Responder.  I spent 8-years as a Fire Fighter but law enforcement has been in my family for three generations and continues to this day.

I retired from General Motors as a mechanic and team leader.  Two accomplishments that I am most proud of is being instrumental in forming the first responder program with AED's that resulted in saving 2 lives on the assembly line from heart attacks and succeeded in having the lowest team absenteeism rate of the plant with over 4,500 workers, which was a direct result of treating my team with respect.

I have been riding a motorcycle for over 50 years and have had the privileged of riding around the country. Another past time if flying airplanes and I look forward to getting my pilots license.

I find myself diversely qualified to understand the wants and needs of the people of Michigan, I understand what the people need and I am ready to undertake the challenge that is required.
